The 2nd Commonwealth Mountain and Ultradistance Running Championships were hosted in three spectacular north-west Wales locations – Llandudno, Llanberis (Snowdon) and Newborough Forest, Anglesey in September 2011.
The combined events of mountain races (Up & Down), ultra-distance races (24 hr event) and trail running (50+km off road) for both men and women produced a long weekend international festival of running.
The Welsh Government’s Major Events Unit supported the event in a public sector partnership with Conwy, Gwynedd and Ynys Mon County Borough Councils and was fully supported by the International Association of Ultra runners (IAU), the World Mountain Running Association (WMRA), by the sports Governing bodies Welsh Athletics and UK Athletics.
runcomm were instrumental in media and communications management, website build and editing, event organisation, finish line commentary and TV production assistance and TV commentary at the event.
